4X Shootout 2017

Team 64 keeps the winning streak going

The 2017 season is winding down, but there’s still a lot of disc golf being played here and there. This past weekend saw several Team 64 members in top spot contention with no less than three event victories. The 4X Shootout at Graham Creek, Foley, Alabama was basically a two horse race between teammates Cameron Colglazier and Matt Orum, where Cam took home the win after three very solid rounds + final 9, among them a 1055 rated third round. Matt notched up an even more impressive 1065 rated second round (39) which was by far the hottest round of the weekend. See Final 9 Facebook Live clip below.

The 7th Annual Valdosta Open saw yet another Team 64 duo battle, this time between Garrett Gurthie and Nicholas Masters. Nick started out with a moderate first round, but bounced back with a magnificent 1043 rated second round to put him on top at the leaderboard just ahead of Garrett who had carded two evenly rated rounds by this point. From then on it was Garretts time to shine. With a 1031 rated third round and an 1043 rated final round, he nabbed his second win of the year. Good showing guys.

Emerson Keith has showed us time and time again over the season why he’s the man to watch out for. In his 64th(!) event of the year he reached top three for the 31st time this year with a second place finish at the Rumble in Ragley, Louisiana. All we can say is … impressive, most impressive … (well, you know the rest).
