He plans to secure a P1 Visa and compete heavily in the United States
Big news out of the Latitude 64° headquarters today as we announce the multi-year extension of Linus Carlsson on our Pro Team. Linus is seeking to make a big splash on the Disc Golf Pro Tour and will be securing a P-1 Player Visa to be able to compete on the scene for years to come. To be eligible for the player visa, Linus’s 2023 contract will go for the next five years to give him the security of competing on Tour for many years.
On choosing Latitude 64°, Linus had the following to say, “I love Latitude 64° because they are very welcoming, understanding, and it’s something special about representing a Swedish manufacturer. Everyone working and representing Latitude 64° is just so nice, and I feel very comfortable in this team.” We are also excited to have the highest-rated player in our home country representing us on an international stage.
By procuring his player visa, Linus plans on competing on the entire Disc Golf Pro Tour in 2023. He will make a trip back to Europe to play the European Open and potentially a few other EuroTour events surrounding the European Open. Linus will be releasing a full Tour Schedule in the coming weeks with specific events he plans on attending. The one event he is really looking forward to competing at is the MVP Open. He had one word to explain why, “revenge”. For context, in 2022 Linus started the tournament in second place and was able to hold that position until the final hole where he carded a triple-bogey and finished in fifth place. It was a heartbreaking series of events and we can see why he wants to exact revenge on the course in 2023.
With the extension comes a Team Series disc. For 2023 Linus will have the new Royal Savior in Orbit plastic. On choosing his disc, Linus commented, “I feel like the disc I’m gonna pick is a very obvious and easy pick for me as soon as I saw, felt, and threw it. I love it because it’s great for both backhand and forehand, and it’s perfect for my signature “Linus line.”” You can expect to find Linus’s disc available on the Latitude 64° Factory Store and in local retailers in the early spring.
As we concluded our time speaking with Linus about his extension, he wanted to take a moment to express his gratitude, “I want to thank Latitude 64° for believing in me and for helping me have my dream Job.” We want to take our time to express thanks to Linus as well. We recognize the commitment it takes to compete in the United States full-time, and we are looking forward to seeing him at the top of leaderboards throughout the season.
