Jonesboro Open 2018
Jonesboro Open is in the books, and the competitors not only had to fight a long grueling course, but also some erratic weather conditions with early morning snow, strong winds and a biting cold. After a somewhat slow start to the season, by his own standards, Ricky Wysocki finally found his rhythm this past weekend. The putting was back on point and in combination with a very solid ground game it was “business as usual”. With three impressive rounds, all above his rating (1059, 1072 and 1062 respectively), he took home the win by four strokes. A key moment for Ricky came in the second round at hole 1 where he made a 50 footer for birdie, saying “That putt on hole 1 in the second round, I feel like I’m back to what I do best … I’m back to where I need to be.”. Music to our ears.
A big shout out goes to David Feldberg who made a serious run at the top with three great rounds, all above his rating (1043, 1052 and 1047), and eventually finishing in 5th place. Nice to see Dave back on form. JohnE McCray also had a great tournament with three solid rounds that took him to 8th place. Nice work JohnE. And, with a stellar performance, Emerson Keith made another deep impression with three excellent rounds well above his rating, which took him to 12th place. Sky’s the limit.
With early start times, the FPO field saw mostly snow covered tee pads and extremely chilly conditions. Despite the weather, Rebecca Cox made yet another great tournament with three rounds above her rating, finishing in 6th place. Nice job Rebecca. We’re sure to see more of her as the season progresses.
Thanks to all our teammates for holding the flag high and helping us grow the sport. Go Team!
