The 2017 DGPT Championships

The DGPT Championship finale turned out to be yet another great showdown between the three top players of the 2017 season. The five player final card saw Ricky Wysocki, Paul McBeth, Simon Lizotte and James Conrad going head to head in a fierce up-and-down battle, leaving Dana Vicich in their wake. Conrad had the hot start with four straight birdies, but as the round progressed it became “The Three Musketeers Show” in the end. Rickys Dagger was on fire, connecting on several putts from “Raptorville territory”, and Paul racked up an impressive thirteen birdies during the round, but also a couple of double bogeys to even things out. Simon treated the spectators to a few “Simon style” shots, but coming down the stretch he found himself one shot behind the leading duo of Ricky and Paul with one hole to go. Hole 18 saw two sides of the disc golf coin. Ricky put down a great roller from the tee, giving himself a clean look for the second shot. Paul on the other hand found himself in deep trouble on the left after hitting a tree, and eventually found daylight on his third shot. The game was pretty much over at this point and with a safe par Ricky took home the DGPT Championship that eluded him last year. Many congratulations to Ricky from us at Latitude 64.

We would also like to give a huge shoutout to team members Zackeriath Johnson and Reid Frescura, who both reached the Semifinals. Zack played a really solid round, going head-to-head with Ricky, and came within inches of reaching the finals. We know we’ll see more of that in the future. Go Team.
